Lam Sai-Wing went down in history in the 2001 edition of Guinness Book of World Records, when he was noted as having the most expensive bathroom in the world. The bathroom was made of 380 kilograms of gold and other precious jewels. The total worth of his bathroom is $3.5 million. The toilet bowls, wash basins, tiles, chandeliers are made of solid 24 carat gold. In addition to the gold, there was a sky light which is surrounded by sapphires, emeralds, rubies and amber. In 2008 the jeweler melted the majority of the gold due to fluctuating prices. All that currently remains is the fully functional gold toilet.
