What is Soapstone?

Soapstone is a natural quarried stone that comes mostly from the Appalachian mountain range.  There are 2 main types of soapstone the first one being Artistic grade and the second one Architectural grade which is most commonly used for countertops as it tends to be a harder surface.

It won’t stain.  Soapstone is a very dense and non-porous stone so you don’t have to worry about it losing its colour.

It is heat resistant.  The stone has a very high density which makes it a great conductor of heat.  You’ll be able to put hot pans right on the counter without worry.

Soapstones nonporous quality makes it an extremely low maintenance job for you.  It is bacteria resistant so all you need is a little soap and water to clean up any mess and no need to worry about using an harsh chemicals.
